Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cain Marks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Justice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cain Marks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Seth Justice!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Justice ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marks moves away.
A shot to the liver by Marks. Beautiful body shot.
Justice tries to clinch there but Marks circles away.
Marks on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Justice. Justice obviously looking to wear him down.
Seth Justice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marks closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Marks lands in his opponent's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Justice has momentary wrist control but Marks slips an elbow through the middle.
Justice wants to stand and escape but Marks is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marks wants to control from the top but Justice keeps moving.
Marks wants to pass the guard but Justice is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Justice preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Marks lands a couple of digs.

Marks drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marks jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Marks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Marks trying to control the position from guard on top but Justice is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marks won't allow Justice to get back to his feet.
Marks throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Justice works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Marks loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Marks advances to half guard.
Justice is trying to stand.
Marks working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marks winds up and cracks Justice with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Marks missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Marks prevents Justice from standing back up.
Marks is nestled in close to Justice, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Marks with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Marks missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Marks is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Justice is just riding it out for now. Marks eventually gives up the hold.
Marks stops Justice from getting back to his feet.
Justice looks winded!
Justice is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Marks scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marks is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Marks looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Marks is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Justice defends it well.
Marks not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Marks working the head and body with strikes.
Marks wants to free his trapped foot but Justice is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Marks seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Justice does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Marks thows a huge punch but Justice dodges it nicely.
Justice wants to get back to his feet.

Justice looking for submissions off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Justice tries to kick Marks off but Marks keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Marks scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Justice is defending against the submission attempts here by Marks.
Justice felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Marks missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Marks has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Justice defend it? Marks steps over the head and cranks it - Justice is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Marks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Cain Marks!
