Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Shephard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiri Brodski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shephard's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, You All Everybody. Brodski has chosen Cold Blue Coma- Downset as his entrance music. Jiri Brodski told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jiri Brodski! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick from Brodski misses. We've been hearing reports that Shephard has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A punch combination from Shephard misses. A head kick misses from Brodski. We've been informed that Brodski has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Brodski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Brodski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jiri Brodski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shephard looking to score a takedown here. Brodski is defending well but Shephard drives through and ends up in Brodski's guard. Brodski had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shephard defends it easily. Shephard wants to control from the top but Brodski keeps moving. Brodski has his foot on Shephard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shephard works his way back into a safe position though. Shephard is pushing down on Brodski's leg trying to pass to half guard. Brodski is fighting to maintain full guard but Shephard has managed to sneak the leg through. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Shephard is pressing down on Brodski's thigh, looking to free his foot. Brodski is holding on for now. Shephard is trying to work for a kimura but Brodski is defending well.

Brodski is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shephard's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shephard's back! Brodski goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Shephard escapes and is now in half guard on top. Shephard is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brodski tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Shephard manages to move to mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shephard misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shephard goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Brodski is on top in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Shephard will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Brodski connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Brodski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shephard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shephard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Brodski preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Brodski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brodski throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Brodski lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shephard has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shephard and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Brodski lands with a thumping leg kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brodski fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shephard. Jiri Brodski seems to be getting the better of the standup. Brodski fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Shephard swinging wildly here.

Jack Shephard's cut is getting worse. Brodski rushes Shephard and presses him up against the cage. Brodski lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Brodski fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Shephard blocks a body shot from Brodski. Brodski has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Brodski pushes Shephard back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Brodski.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brodski swings wildly with an uppercut but Shephard uses good head movement to avoid it. Brodski with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Brodski throws a head punch that misses. Shephard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Brodski has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The fight stays on the outside here - Brodski looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Shephard on the wrong end of a nice hook. Brodski lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Jack Shephard's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Brodski throws a looping overhand right but Shephard ducks down to avoid it. A swing and a miss from Brodski. Shephard lands a two punch combo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shephard fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brodski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Brodski lands a nice shot that snaps Shephard's head back.
Brodski drops Shephard with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Shephard looks back up at him and smiles so Brodski waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Shephard is rocked! Brodski scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Oh Shephard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jeez, Jack Shephard's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
