Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Virgil Buchanan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Augustus Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Virgil Buchanan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Augustus Clay! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clay feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Buchanan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Clay working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Buchanan throws his legs up looking for a submission but Clay uses it to pass to side control.
Clay controlling the position. Buchanan is looking to regain half guard here but Clay keeps moving and retains side control. Clay has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Clay looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Clay is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Buchanan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Clay decides to take the fight back to the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buchanan gets caught flat footed, as Clay shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Clay makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Clay trying to control but Buchanan is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Clay is pushing down on Buchanan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Buchanan is fighting to maintain full guard but Clay has managed to sneak the leg through. Clay looking for a submission but Buchanan manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Clay wants to control from the top but Buchanan keeps moving. Clay is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clay looking to pass the guard. Clay works a leg free and moves into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Clay is keen to just control but Buchanan is a slippery customer. Clay is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Buchanan has managed to free his arm - good work. Clay is looking to take a break and control but Buchanan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Clay slips a nice elbow through Buchanan's hands, connecting with Buchanan's forehead. Clay escapes and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Buchanan. Clay tries to clinch but Buchanan moves out of range. Buchanan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Clay. Clay misses with a double jab.
Clay shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buchanan as he avoids it easily. Buchanan misses with a takedown attempt - Clay sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Buchanan has his takedown stuffed and Clay counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Virgil Buchanan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Buchanan is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clay misses with a two punch combination.
Clay shoots for a double leg takedown but Buchanan sprawls well. He's pushed Clay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Buchanan leaves Clay with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Clay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Buchanan pinned against the cage. Buchanan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Buchanan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Clay counters with a series of strikes. Buchanan will be more careful next time no doubt. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Buchanan with a lazy takedown attempt and Clay counters with a single leg into guard. Buchanan didn't expect that. Clay decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Augustus Clay dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Buchanan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Clay defends well. Clay drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Clay jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Clay decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Clay tries to clinch up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clay looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Clay. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Buchanan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Clay connects with a couple of short punches. Buchanan can't keep his opponent in guard - Clay advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Clay maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Buchanan could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Clay has cracked it and Buchanan is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Clay!
