Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teddy Walls!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Wong!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wong clinches up against the cage.
Walls tries to pull guard but Wong won't allow it.
Walls tries to score a body lock takedown but Wong shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Wong breaks the clinch.
Joe Wong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wong darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Wong content to control rather than advance.
Walls gets full guard.
Wong throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Walls knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wong on the ground.
Wong tries to free his leg and advance position but Walls is retaining full guard.

Walls is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wong gets to his feet - Walls follows without any prompting.

Wong drives through with a takedown into Walls's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Wong is pushing down on Walls's leg trying to pass to half guard. Walls is fighting to maintain full guard but Wong has managed to sneak the leg through.

Walls is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Wong jumps into side control!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wong works to advance to full mount. Walls defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Walls looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Wong looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Wong misses with an elbow to the head.
I would not like to be Walls right now.
Walls really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Walls is in bad spot here.

Walls trying to control but not successfully.
Wong is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wong has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Wong dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Excellent takedown into side control there by Wong.
Wong postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Wong throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Walls is looking to regain half guard here but Wong keeps moving and retains side control.
Walls is working hard here to advance position.
The ground and pound from Wong seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

You can see the frustration on Walls's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wong has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Walls!

Wong tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Wong sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Wong controlling the pace for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walls is desperately trying to improve his position but Wong has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wong working for a submission but Walls is keeping him at bay.
Wong looking to control but Walls is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wong controlling from mount.
Walls is desperately trying to improve his position but Wong has a good base and remains in mount.
Walls tries to improve his position but instead Wong has taken his back!
Walls avoids the strikes from Wong.
Walls is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Wong.
Walls is trying to break free.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wong just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Wong working for a choke but Walls is defending well.
Walls tries to escape but Wong has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
What can Walls do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
You can see the frustration on Walls's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Wong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Walls misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wong.

Walls gets caught flat footed, as Wong shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Wong throws a big elbow that misses.
Walls looking for a sweep. Not yet Walls, not yet.
Joe Wong has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wong is pushing down on Walls's leg trying to pass to half guard. Walls is fighting to maintain full guard but Wong has managed to sneak the leg through.

Wong is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Wong decides to stand up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Wong shoots in and gets a takedown into Walls's guard.

Walls escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wong gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Walls will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Wong advances to half guard.
Wong passes to full mount!
Wong throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Wong controlling the position easily from mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Wong cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Wong takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Wong has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wong throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Walls is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Wong jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Walls manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Wong stands up and beckons Walls to his feet.

Walls takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Walls looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Wong rushes Walls and presses him up against the cage.

Wong jumps into guard, dragging Walls to the mat.
Walls is looking to stand up but Wong won't let him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wong lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Walls!
Wong content just to control the position here.

Wong is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Walls is surviving well by controlling Wong's body position as best he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walls wants to control but Wong is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Joe Wong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
