Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Niko Alzate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brady Tracey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tracey has chosen Purple Haze as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Niko Alzate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brady Tracey!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tracey defending well as Alzate loads up on a big left hand.
Alzate turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Alzate getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Alzate pushes Tracey away with a front kick.
A good leg kick by Alzate.
Alzate keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Good leg kick by Alzate there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Tracey scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Alzate jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Tracey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alzate manages to avoid it.
Alzate connects with an inside leg kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Alzate.
Tracey misses with a jab, cross combination.
Good leg kick by Alzate there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Tracey gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Alzate.
Tracey misses with a lunging right hand

and Alzate counters with a single leg into guard. Tracey didn't expect that.
Alzate is pushing down on Tracey's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tracey is fighting to maintain full guard but Alzate has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tracey told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Alzate content to control rather than advance.
Tracey blocking the ground and pound attempt from Alzate.
Alzate is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Tracey pushes Alzate off looking to stand but Alzate dives back in and keeps control.
Alzate wants to free his trapped foot but Tracey is holding on for dear life with his legs.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tracey can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tracey regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Alzate.
Alzate stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tracey swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alzate is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Niko Alzate wasn't doing enough on the ground.
A telegraphed right hand from Tracey misses the target.
Alzate misses with the combination.
Tracey scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Alzate throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Tracey tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Tracey jabs Alzate right on the nose. Alzate blinks but takes it well.
Alzate uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tracey.
Tracey looks to land a right hand but Alzate moved out of range.
Tracey scores with a jab.
Alzate tries to clinch up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tracey. Alzate does a little dance to reset his feet.
Alzate slips a jab from Tracey.
Alzate has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Tracey finds it's way round the side to connect with Alzate's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tracey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alzate manages to avoid it.
Tracey throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Alzate sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Tracey waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Alzate.
Alzate throws a leg kick
and Tracey counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Alzate misses with a body kick.
Tracey throws a right hand that misses
and Alzate counters with a nice kick to the body.
Tracey throws out a loose jab but Alzate uses good head movement to avoid it.
Alzate missing with a left hand there. Tracey was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

A nice leg kick lands there from Alzate.
Tracey avoids the head kick by Alzate.
Tracey throws a hook to the side of Alzate's head but Alzate sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tracey throws a right hand that Alzate ducks under and follows up with a left that Alzate also avoids with ease.
Nice shot by Alzate.
Tracey throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Niko Alzate dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Alzate gets a clinch.
Tracey blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Tracey tries to circle away but Alzate has him pinned against the cage.
Alzate tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tracey's elbow.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Alzate takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Alzate is trying to stall.
Alzate lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Tracey has had enough of the clinch but Alzate keeps him there for the moment.

Tracey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice defenses there by Alzate.
Alzate scores with a push kick.
Tracey misses the shot to the body.
Tracey misses with an uppercut. Alzate saw that one coming.
A jab from Tracey finds it's way through Alzate's defenses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tracey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alzate moves away.
Tracey tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Alzate pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A good leg kick by Alzate.
Tracey slips a jab from Alzate.
A telegraphed right hand from Tracey misses the target.
Alzate throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A chopping leg kick lands by Alzate.
Tracey throws a big shot that misses.
Alzate throws a head kick that Tracey semi-blocks.
Alzate connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Alzate feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Tracey's calf.
Alzate scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alzate throws a front kick that sends Tracey stumbling back into the cage.
Tracey looks to land a right hand but Alzate moved out of range.
Alzate goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


Tracey is rocked!
Alzate has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Tracey looks to land a right hand but Alzate moved out of range.
Tracey is still on wobbly legs! Can Alzate finish him?
Alzate is stalking Tracey. Tracey circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Alzate, and it's lights out! Tracey really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Niko Alzate!
A victorious Niko Alzate thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
Brady Tracey was interviewed post fight and said 'What can I say...I didn't perform tonight. To be honest I was fighting with a small case of the bird flu. No excuse though, no excuse. '.
