Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trygve Bondevik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Kopyto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Trygve Bondevik has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 2, fighting out of London, Trygve Bondevik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Kopyto!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kopyto tries to close the distance and clinch but Bondevik swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Bondevik counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Andrew Kopyto has been cut.
Bondevik lands a glancing blow to the side of Kopyto's head.
Bondevik tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kopyto paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Bondevik counters with a big uppercut that knocks Kopyto off his feet! Bondevik dives into side control looking to finish!


Kopyto is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kopyto can't do much from the bottom here.
Kopyto is still in real trouble! Can Bondevik finish him?
Kopyto is not content to let Bondevik control the position.
Kopyto seems to have recovered his senses.

Bondevik tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Bondevik will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kopyto pushes Bondevik away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bondevik gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The referee asks Bondevik politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bondevik prefers to stall for the moment though.

Kopyto tries to buck Bondevik off but Bondevik is having none of it.

Kopyto tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bondevik wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
I wouldn't like to be where Kopyto is right now.

Bondevik is looking to take a break and control but Kopyto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kopyto wants to control but Bondevik postures up.
Bondevik trying to control the position but Kopyto is working away.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bondevik lands with a right hand.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kopyto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bondevik tries to clinch up but Kopyto circles away and keeps his distance.

and Bondevik counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Bondevik makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Kopyto gets caught flat footed, as Bondevik shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Bondevik's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Bondevik is standing up over Kopyto. Kopyto looks to escape but Bondevik dives into side control.
Kopyto tries to bench press Bondevik off him but Bondevik keeps the position.
Kopyto is still trying to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kopyto wants to get back to his feet but Bondevik drags him back down.
Bondevik wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kopyto keeps working.
Kopyto gets back to half guard.
Kopyto trying to control but Bondevik postures up.
Bondevik is trying to control. Kopyto wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Kopyto wants to get back to full guard.
Kopyto is not content to let Bondevik control the position.
Trygve Bondevik overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kopyto wants to get back to his feet.
Bondevik missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bondevik thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kopyto's head.

Trygve Bondevik has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Kopyto tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kopyto tries to keep at a distance but Bondevik has taken the fight into the clinch.
Bondevik unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Kopyto is breathing heavily.
Bondevik missing with knees to the body.
Kopyto doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Kopyto in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Kopyto misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kopyto throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Bondevik lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kopyto backwards.
A left hand lands to the body for Bondevik.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bondevik's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Bondevik uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bondevik is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kopyto can do to turn this around?

and Bondevik scores with a counter punch that sends Kopyto to the canvas! Bondevik smells blood - he's punishing Kopyto with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Kopyto has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trygve Bondevik!
