Simpson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Merridew looks to land a left hand but Simpson moved out of range nicely.
Merridew is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Simpson.
Merridew swings for the body but Simpson moves out of range.
Merridew cracks a nice hook into Simpson's ribs.
Merridew fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Merridew throws a jab when Simpson was well out of range.
Merridew has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Merridew's corner calls for a 1-2. Merridew obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Merridew misses with a wild body shot.
Merridew throws a jab but it's blocked by Simpson.
Merridew scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Merridew takes a swing at Simpson's ribcage but misses.
Simpson is looking to clinch.

Simpson gets the takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Simpson wants to control but Merridew is keeping him busy.

Simpson has an Americana. Merridew didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Simpson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Simpson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
