Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, JJ Lean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Erik Tarvainen!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lean tries to clinch but Tarvainen moves away
and Lean takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like JJ Lean has been cut.
Tarvainen blocks a head kick by Lean.
Horrible takedown by Lean or perhaps it was just good defense by Tarvainen which made him look bad.
Tarvainen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've been informed that Tarvainen has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Tarvainen lands a nice shot to the body.

Tarvainen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tarvainen is looking to take a break and control but Lean is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lean tries to kick Tarvainen off but Tarvainen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Lean trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tarvainen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Tarvainen working over Lean with some ground and pound. Lean looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Lean wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Tarvainen tries to score with some ground and pound. Lean controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Lean knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tarvainen on the ground.
Tarvainen advances to full mount.
Tarvainen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tarvainen sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Tarvainen looking to finish Lean with some ground and pound. This is bad for Lean!

Lean wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Tarvainen.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Tarvainen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lean is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Lean is breathing heavily.
Tarvainen lands a heavy elbow.

Lean is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Tarvainen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lean is looking to escape.
Tarvainen scoring with strikes but Lean is staying in there.
Lean is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Tarvainen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Tarvainen breaks from Lean's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Lean squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Tarvainen is landing with some decent strikes but Lean is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Lean really wants to buck Tarvainen off and get back to his feet.
Lean is bucking up trying to escape but Tarvainen cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


Lean is rocked!

A big strike lands for Tarvainen! That's really hurt Lean and he's turned his back - Tarvainen keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Tarvainen jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Erik Tarvainen!
