Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jackie Padilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boom Panes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jackie Padilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Boom Panes!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Panes drives through with a takedown into Padilla's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Panes slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Panes tries to stand but Padilla is controlling from the bottom.
Panes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Panes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Boom Panes wasn't active enough on the ground.

Panes clinches with his opponent.

Padilla prevents Panes from breaking the clinch.

Panes is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Padilla can't fight it off and eventually Panes manages to take the fight to the floor. Padilla looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Panes postures up and lands a big shot to Padilla's brow.
Panes stays in close to Padilla's body and controls the position.

Panes has gone for a leg lock! Padilla slips out almost immediately though and dives into Panes's guard.

Padilla cracks Panes with a solid left hand.
Panes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Padilla postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Panes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Padilla defends it easily.
Panes preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Panes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Panes slows the pace down in half guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Panes jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Padilla is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Padilla and Panes has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boom Panes dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Panes wants to control but Padilla is keeping him busy.

Panes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Panes tries to move to mount but Padilla blocks the move with his legs.
Panes creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Padilla sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Panes content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Panes tries to stand but Padilla is controlling his head.
Padilla tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Panes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Padilla has escaped the position, nice work there.
Panes is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Panes moves into full mount!

Panes fails to advance to Padilla's back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boom Panes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Panes clinches up with Padilla and pushes him back against the cage.

Panes gets control of Padilla's arms and successfully pulls guard. Panes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Padilla is working Panes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Panes holds on and takes a little breather.
Padilla throws an elbow that misses. Panes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Padilla's guard. Nice move by Panes!

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Panes postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Padilla is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Panes, into his guard.
Padilla throws an elbow that misses. Panes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Padilla's guard. Nice move by Panes!
Panes wants to pass the guard but Padilla is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Panes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Padilla is proving hard to escape from.
Panes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Panes throws a big elbow that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Panes wants to get up but he can't break Padilla's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Panes postures up in Padilla's guard and throws a big left but Padilla blocks it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Boom Panes.

Padilla tries to keep at a distance but Panes has taken the fight into the clinch.

Panes pulls Padilla into guard.

Panes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Padilla gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Boom Panes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Panes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
