PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hector Corpor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Skip Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corpor's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Can't Be Touched. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hector Corpor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Skip Torres!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres scores with a three punch combo!
Corpor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Torres manages to avoid it.
Corpor doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Corpor feints and then cracks Torres's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Torres down.
Torres takes a jab right on the kisser.

Torres shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Torres was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Torres trying to control the action but Corpor is working from the bottom.

Torres is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Corpor knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Torres looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Corpor wants to control but Torres postures up.
Corpor tries to improve position but can't.
Torres has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Corpor!
Torres tries to control but Corpor wriggling away.
Torres avoids the attempt from Corpor to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Torres tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Torres wants to finish this one by submission but Corpor is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Torres.
Torres controlling his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Torres looking for a guillotine from mount but Corpor is having none of it.
Torres controlling from the full mount.
Torres can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Corpor is looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Torres sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Skip Torres dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Torres lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Corpor circles away quickly and effectively.

Torres moves into range and clinches up with Corpor.
Torres is trying to break the clinch but Corpor is controlling him.
Corpor tries to throw a body punch but Torres avoids it by throwing Corpor back against the cage.
Corpor lands an uppercut.
Torres is trying to break the clinch but Corpor is controlling him.
Corpor looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Corpor trying to control the position but instead, Torres has worked for underhooks and has pushed Corpor into the cage.
Corpor lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Corpor throws an elbow but it misses.

Torres wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Corpor creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Torres blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Corpor lands a shoulder strike.
Torres tries to score a body lock takedown but Corpor shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Corpor lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Torres or not.
Corpor lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Corpor lands with a left to the head.
Torres has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Corpor avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
I was talking to Corpor's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Torres manages to break the clinch.
Skip Torres is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Corpor lands with a nice body punch.
Corpor tests Torres's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Corpor lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Torres backs up against the cage.


Torres is rocked!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Corpor batters Torres with a massive right followed by a huge left! Torres is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Corpor lands a final crushing right hand to drop Torres to the mat with a gruesome thud! Corpor is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Hector Corpor!
An out of breath Hector Corpor thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
