Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robin Van Persie!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barry scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Barry stuns Van Persie with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Van Persie misses with a body shot.
A left lands for Van Persie.
It looks like Pat Barry has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Van Persie takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Barry misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Van Persie walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Barry pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Van Persie throws a series of punches but Barry avoids them all with ease.

and Barry counters with a big head kick but Van Persie shrugs it off.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Van Persie has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Van Persie throws a shot to the body.
Barry throws a head kick that misses.
Van Persie lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Barry pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Pat Barry's cut is getting worse.
Van Persie misses with a left hand
and Barry cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Van Persie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Barry lands a high kick!
Barry swings for the body but Van Persie moves out of range.
Van Persie walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Barry drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Van Persie swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Barry's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robin Van Persie!
