Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Simon Adebesi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Advice Mallard! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adebesi throws a right hand that Mallard ducks under and follows up with a left that Mallard also avoids with ease. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Adebesi. Adebesi misses with a wild combination.
Simon Adebesi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Adebesi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mallard doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Adebesi blocks the body kick.
Adebesi looks to land a combination but Mallard avoids it well. Mallard showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Adebesi.
Adebesi connects with a crisp jab. Adebesi takes a swing at Mallard's ribcage but misses. Mallard gets a double leg takedown into Adebesi's guard. Adebesi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Adebesi pushes Mallard off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Adebesi lands a lovely overhand right. A swing and a miss from Adebesi. A looping hook to the body misses from Adebesi. Mallard does a little dance to reset his feet. Donk. Adebesi catches Mallard right on the button with a cross. Mallard throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Adebesi lands an overhand right. Adebesi blocks a head kick by Mallard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mallard looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
