These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mulroney showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Stagliano.
Stagliano throws a combination. Mulroney tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mulroney avoids the body shot from Stagliano.
Mulroney scores with a jab to the head.
Stagliano scores with a hook to the body. Mulroney takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Mulroney tries a head kick but it misses.
Mulroney slips a jab and a cross from Stagliano.
Stagliano wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Stagliano looks to throw the jab but Mulroney is out of range.
Mulroney lands with a kick to the ribs.
Mulroney avoids the head kick by Stagliano.
Stagliano swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stagliano tries to clinch
and Mulroney counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Stagliano moves in looking to clinch but Mulroney pushes him off.
A head kick misses from Mulroney.
Stagliano gets caught napping as Mulroney dives in and scores a takedown. Stagliano manages to retain guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mulroney pushes down on Stagliano's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Mulroney is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stagliano doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mulroney.

Mulroney is trying to work for a kimura but Stagliano is defending well.
Mulroney works his way into side control.

Mulroney has hold of Stagliano's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Stagliano tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Mulroney cranks the arm and Stagliano screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Stagliano, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
