PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Abbot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abbot's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Primative. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Abbot. No joy for Scott on that attempt. Scott's coach down at Evil Emp-HEAD HUNTERS FIGHTCLUB ELITE4CHEAP//19COA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Scott's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Scott gets the takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Abbot manages to get back to half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Scott seems to be working for a kimura but Abbot defends the submission attempt. Scott seems to be working for a kimura but Abbot defends the submission attempt. Abbot makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Abbot. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Abbot is on top in guard.
Scott throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Abbot definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Abbot will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Abbot drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Abbot as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Scott screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Abbot! Nice submission victory there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Tony Abbot! Tony Abbot decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
