Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Adamh Pearse!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mark Avreli!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearse throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Avreli moves into range and connects with a jab.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Avreli has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Pearse tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Avreli paws at him with a jab and circles away.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We've been hearing good reports from Pearse's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
