Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maria Ozawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yang Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Japanese National Anthem. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maria Ozawa! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yang Lee! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ozawa decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lee pushes Ozawa off and gets back to his feet. Ozawa fails with a takedown attempt. Lee throws a right hand that Ozawa ducks under and follows up with a left that Ozawa also avoids with ease. Maria Ozawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ozawa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lee sprawls well. Lee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ozawa gets slowly back to his feet. Ozawa looks to land a body kick but Lee moved away. Lee is looking to land body kicks. Ozawa throws a sloppy head kick and Lee moves out of range easily. Ozawa with a lazy takedown attempt and Lee connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ozawa has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maria Ozawa. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ozawa looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Ozawa throwing strikes from guard but Lee blocks nicely. Ozawa chips away with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ozawa throws a strike but Lee rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lee wants to stand but Ozawa has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Ozawa wants to stand up but Lee is controlling him. Lee wants to control from the top but Ozawa keeps moving. Lee sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ozawa working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Ozawa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Yang Lee wasn't active enough on the ground. Lee takes the fight into the clinch. Lee takes an elbow to the forehead. Lee lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Lee pulls guard effortlessly. Ozawa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ozawa trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ozawa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lee works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ozawa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Ozawa passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Ozawa. Ozawa throwing shots but missing, from side control. Lee wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lee defending against the ground and pound. The ground and pound from Ozawa seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Ozawa goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lee rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ozawa's guard! Nice work there by Lee! Ozawa keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ozawa trying to control the position.
Lee works over Ozawa with some ground and pound from guard. Lee wants to stand but Ozawa has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Ozawa tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ozawa keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully. Lee is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ozawa working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lee. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Maria Ozawa will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ozawa fails in his attempt to clinch. Lee throws a series of punches but Ozawa avoids them all with ease. Lee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Lee moves out of range of the body kick from Ozawa.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lee looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ozawa throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Lee cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Lee throws a head kick but Ozawa moves out of range.
Ozawa lands a nice looking kick to the body. Lee takes a step back to recover. Ozawa looks for the body kick but Lee saw that one coming. Ozawa shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Ozawa takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Lee clinches with his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! With the two fighters working up against the cage, Ozawa just misses with a elbow thrown towards Lee's brow. Ozawa with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Ozawa is looking to take this one to the mat. Lee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee doesn't manage to clinch there - Ozawa circles away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lee. Ozawa does a little dance to reset his feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Ozawa looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ozawa tried to score with a low kick but Lee checks it. Ozawa wants to clinch up but Lee keeps it at a distance. Ozawa has managed to clinch.
Lee takes an elbow to the forehead. Ozawa jumps guard but Lee turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Lee is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Ozawa is keeping busy. Ozawa throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lee blocks it with crossed arms. Lee is trying to pull guard but Ozawa turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Ozawa missing with knees to the body.
Ozawa tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lee smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maria Ozawa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lee feints and then cracks Ozawa's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ozawa down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ozawa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Ozawa throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Ozawa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lee sprawls well. Lee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ozawa gets slowly back to his feet. Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from Ozawa, before circling back to the center of the mat. Lee wants to clinch up but Ozawa keeps it at a distance. Lee lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ozawa swats away the attempt to clinch by Lee. Lee misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ozawa sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Ozawa moves in looking to clinch but Lee pushes him off. A lazy body kick from Ozawa and Lee counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Lee looks at the referee who does nothing so Lee lands a crushing right that sends Ozawa to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yang Lee! Yang Lee is the new lightweight champion! An out of breath and clearly excited Yang Lee thanked Formula 51 and 10% laundary for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
