Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Wabbit! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ivan Kozlov! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wabbit thows a body shot but no joy. Kozlov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wabbit. Kozlov misses with a hook. Wabbit jabbing away but nothing is landing. Wabbit misses with a looping right. Kozlov throws a head kick that half lands.
Wabbit throws a lazy right hand but Kozlov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Wabbit fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kozlov on the side of the head. Kozlov slips a straight right by Wabbit. Kozlov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wabbit changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kozlov tries to avoid it but Wabbit manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kozlov to the ground. Kozlov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kozlov scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wabbit doesn't seem bothered though. We've been informed that Kozlov has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Wabbit throws a body punch but Kozlov moves out of range. Wabbit throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wabbit. Wabbit takes a head kick and keeps coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kozlov moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Wabbit digs a good body shot into Kozlov's ribs. Roger Wabbit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wabbit misses with a hook. Wabbit is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kozlov. Wabbit throws a lazy uppercut
and Wabbit takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Kozlov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kozlov wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Wabbit. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wabbit is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kozlov's half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wabbit thows a huge punch but Kozlov dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wabbit slips a nice elbow through Kozlov's hands, connecting with Kozlov's forehead. Ground and pound from Wabbit. Wabbit seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Wabbit trying to control from half guard but Kozlov is working away. Wabbit tries to stand and escape but Kozlov is controlling the position. Kozlov is trying to stand back up but Wabbit is controlling him

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wabbit takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Wabbit slips a nice elbow through Kozlov's hands, connecting with Kozlov's forehead. Kozlov blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wabbit. Wabbit not landing any meaningful shots this time. Wabbit is nestled in close to Kozlov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Wabbit thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kozlov's head. Kozlov is trying to stand back up but Wabbit is controlling him
Wabbit missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Wabbit is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Wabbit has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Kozlov works to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wabbit trying to control the position from guard on top but Kozlov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kozlov wants to get back to his feet but Wabbit is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kozlov is looking to stand up but Wabbit isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roger Wabbit dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Wabbit throws a chopping leg kick but Kozlov manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Wabbit drops his hands momentarily and Kozlov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Wabbit looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wabbit moves into range and clinches up with Kozlov. A nice left hand lands by Kozlov.
Kozlov presses Wabbit against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Wabbit lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kozlov backwards. Wabbit misses with a hook from the clinch. Wabbit tries a body shot but Kozlov blocks it.
With the fighters up against the cage, Wabbit throws an elbow but misses. Wabbit wants a takedown but no success here.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Kozlov blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Kozlov lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kozlov stalling against the cage.

Wabbit misses with a hook to the ribs.
Wabbit is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kozlov pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Wabbit. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wabbit has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kozlov after a bit of a struggle. Kozlov scores with a hook to the body. Kozlov lands a right hand. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kozlov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kozlov with a nice cross. Wabbit shoots in for a double leg but Kozlov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kozlov slips a jab from Wabbit. Kozlov with a body punch. A glancing blow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wabbit misses with a low kick. Wabbit is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kozlov. Kozlov throws a nice outside leg kick. Wabbit fails with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kozlov throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wabbit on the side of the head. A big left from Kozlov misses. A punch combination from Wabbit misses. Wabbit swings and misses with a shot to the body and Kozlov counters with a head kick. That will keep Wabbit thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Wabbit is rocked! Kozlov throws a powerful right kick. Wabbit tried to block low but the kick was high! Wabbit was taken right off of his feet! Kozlov jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
