Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gerry Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Seal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy Seal looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gerry Mann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmy Seal!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seal throws a series of punches but Mann moves out of range.

Seal gets a clinch.
Mann is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Mann drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Seal gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Seal is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Mann really is a fat lump.
Seal wants to break the clinch but can't.
Seal is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mann pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Seal looks winded!
Seal tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mann just stands there and leans against the cage.

Seal wants to get back to striking at distance but Mann won't allow it.
Mann has Seal pressed against the cage, preventing Seal from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Seal manages to break the clinch.
Seal leaves Mann with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mann tries to clinch up but Seal circles away and keeps his distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gerry Mann will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Mann counters with a shoot takedown. Seal fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mann loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Mann wants to stand but Seal has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Seal has his hands on Mann's head, controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Seal is trying to trip Mann. He has hold of a leg but Mann is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Seal persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Seal stops Mann from standing up.
Mann manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mann misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Mann tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

Mann is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Seal has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Mann stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Mann tries to close the distance and clinch but Seal swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mann moves out of range as Seal strikes.

Seal forces Mann back against the cage and clinches.
Seal jumps guard but Mann stands there with Seal around his waist. Seal gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mann is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Seal pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Mann tries to stall but Seal uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Seal gets control of Mann's arms and successfully pulls guard. Seal will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Seal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mann doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mann manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mann gets to his feet - Seal follows without any prompting.

Mann takes the fight into the clinch.
Seal is looking to break free of the clinch but Mann has double underhooks.
Mann content to slow the pace in the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

We've been informed that Seal has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Seal throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mann counters with a nice uppercut.
Jimmy Seal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Seal bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mann shoots in for a takedown but Seal shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jimmy Seal has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Gerry Mann is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mann uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Seal.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gerry Mann.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mann, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
