Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jia O Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Public Enemy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Connor comes to the cage accompanied by Parkway Drive - Feed them to the pigs. Enemy has chosen (Silence) as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jia O Connor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Public Enemy!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Connor takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
O Connor throws a solid leg kick but Enemy takes the impact on his shin and smiles at O Connor.
O Connor uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Enemy looks to clinch

and O Connor counters with a takedown into side control.
Enemy is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked O Connor off and has taken his back!
Enemy lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns O Connor.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
O Connor is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Enemy keeps control of the position easily here as O Connor tries to buck him off.
We've been hearing good reports from O Connor's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Enemy cracks O Connor with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing O Connor from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Enemy lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can O Connor hold on?!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Enemy's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Enemy has good solid back control here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
O Connor looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
O Connor is covering up but some of the strikes from Enemy are getting through and doing damage.
O Connor tries to escape the position.
Enemy somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

O Connor tries to escape but Enemy has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Enemy doesn't have the hooks in and O Connor manages to turn into his guard.
Enemy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Enemy looking for a sweep. Not yet Enemy, not yet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
O Connor throws a big right hand that misses.
O Connor postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Enemy is adopting a defensive guard.

Public Enemy dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


O Connor tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Enemy is able to avoid easily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Enemy. That's going to slow O Connor down.
Public Enemy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
O Connor misses with a left hand
and Enemy counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A jab from Enemy does it's job there.
Enemy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Enemy displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as O Connor checks a leg kick.
Enemy connects with a nice looking jab.
Enemy swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by O Connor.
Enemy bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of O Connor's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Enemy counters with a leg kick.

Enemy connects with a solid leg kick.
O Connor takes a swing at Enemy's ribcage but misses.
Enemy lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
O Connor throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
O Connor checks a leg kick nicely.
O Connor shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Enemy takes the fight into the clinch.
Enemy is trying to maintain a safe position but O Connor gets an underhook and turns Enemy into the cage.

Enemy blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Enemy leaning against his opponent.

Enemy is trying to maintain a safe position but O Connor gets an underhook and turns Enemy into the cage.

Enemy scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

O Connor gets tackled into the cage by Enemy. Enemy maintains the clinch.

O Connor can't find room to land a body shot as Enemy controls the action.

O Connor tries to work over Enemy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Public Enemy.

O Connor looks to land a right hand but Enemy moved out of range.
Enemy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but O Connor moves away.
Enemy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Enemy is looking to clinch.
The fighters circling - Enemy throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Enemy connects with a jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Enemy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but O Connor manages to avoid it.
O Connor misses with a head kick.
Enemy lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Public Enemy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Enemy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from O Connor.
O Connor uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Enemy.
Enemy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. O Connor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
O Connor shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Enemy sprawls well. Enemy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. O Connor gets slowly back to his feet.
Enemy misses with a hook to the body

so O Connor counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Enemy tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Enemy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
O Connor trying to control the position from guard on top but Enemy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as O Connor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
O Connor throws an elbow that misses. Enemy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in O Connor's guard. Nice move by Enemy!
O Connor looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Enemy puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Public Enemy has got the better of the ground game so far.
O Connor wants to control but Enemy is keeping busy.
O Connor wants to improve his position but Enemy is controlling well.
Enemy is taking a breather. O Connor says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Enemy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed O Connor's head.
Jia O Connor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Enemy trying to control from half guard but O Connor is working away.
O Connor works his way to full guard. Good work.
Enemy passes O Connor's left leg - he's now in half guard.
O Connor wants to get back to full guard.
Well, if Enemy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
O Connor slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Enemy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Enemy preventing the sweep.
Enemy wants to control from the top but O Connor keeps moving.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Enemy is in close to O Connor's body, working some short punches and elbows.
O Connor wants to sweep but no luck.
Enemy stays in close to O Connor's body and controls the position.
Enemy stopping the sweep attempt from O Connor.
Enemy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Public Enemy was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Enemy throws a front kick aimed at O Connor's knee but O Connor avoids it well.
O Connor ducks under a wild hook from Enemy.
Enemy misses the shot to the body.
Enemy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Public Enemy is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
O Connor takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Enemy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits O Connors jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
O Connor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Enemy swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jia O Connor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Public Enemy.
Well Enemy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Public Enemy tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
