16 - 5 - 2, fighting out of New York, Vlad Kersikov! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kersikov throws a lazy right hand but Reinikainen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Good standup being displayed there by Kersikov as he connects with a hook. Reinikainen slips under a jab. Vlad Kersikov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kersikov misses with a hook. Reinikainen is looking to slow Kersikov down with leg kicks. Kersikov throws a big shot that misses. Kersikov showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Reinikainen.
A left lands for Kersikov. Reinikainen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kersikov. Kersikov misses with a looping left. Kersikov doesn't manage to clinch there - Reinikainen circles away.
Nice straight punches there by Reinikainen. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Reinikainen. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kersikov shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Reinikainen eats them both and turns towards Kersikov to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Danga de danga de dang - Kersikov scores with a four punch combination!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kersikov lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Reinikainen at a distance.
Reinikainen staying out of range there. Kersikov thows a leg kick but Reinikainen checks it letting Reinikainen counter with a right hand. Kersikov misses with a body shot.
Kersikov goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Reinikainen chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Reinikainen's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kersikov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Reinikainen scrambles back to his feet. Kersikov misses with a hook
and Reinikainen counters with a series of strikes. Kersikov will be more careful next time no doubt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kersikov jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Kersikov misses with a body kick. Kersikov throws a good cross that connects.
Reinikainen misses with a low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kersikov scores with a jab to the body. Kersikov takes a swing at Reinikainen's ribcage but misses. Kersikov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Reinikainen.
Reinikainen throws a leg kick that misses. Kersikov chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Kersikov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Reinikainen finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Reinikainen walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Kersikov swings away with a body shot that misses
and Reinikainen counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Reinikainen looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kersikov lands a glancing blow to the side of Reinikainen's head. Kersikov scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Reinikainen takes one to the chin there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reinikainen lands with a thumping leg kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Kersikov misses the target. Reinikainen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Reinikainen takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Reinikainen is rocked! Nice defenses there by Reinikainen. Reinikainen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Kersikov throws a lazy right hand but Reinikainen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Reinikainen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kersikov. Reinikainen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kersikov connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Oh Reinikainen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kersikov ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Reinikainen out cold! The fight is over!
