Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dragan Law!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Martin Hewitt!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Law looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Law is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Law shoots for a double leg takedown but Hewitt sprawls well. He's pushed Law's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A slow jab from Hewitt misses its intended target.
Hewitt swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Law shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dragan Law. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hewitt lands with a right hand.
Law tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hewitt manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hewitt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Law looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hewitt is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Law is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's time! Law's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Law looks for a takedown but Hewitt sprawls well.

The fighters circle momentarily. Hewitt darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Law working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hewitt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hewitt manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Law stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hewitt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Law drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hewitt dives on top into guard.

Law escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hewitt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Law is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hewitt has his hands clasped together but Law extends and breaks Hewitt's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Law.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dragan Law!
