The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barboza works over Kilju's head and body with a nice combination.
Barboza closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kilju blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kilju gets control of Barboza's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kilju will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Kilju bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Barboza's guard.

My spies in Hilo Training Center inform me that Kilju has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Kilju is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Barboza can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Barboza seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kilju is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Barboza rolls with it to try and escape but Kilju cranks on the arm and Barboza is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
