PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bingo Star (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fei Yue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Star kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Octopus's garden. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bingo Star!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fei Yue!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yue tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Star defends well and Yue ends up having to push Star into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Yue tries to work over Star's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Yue.
Star unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Star with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Star throws a knee to the head but misses.
Star lands an elbow inside that Yue shrugs off.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Yue has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Star working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yue doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yue manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close round but I would say that Bingo Star will probably get the nod.

Star is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

That kick from Yue tenderised Star's leg. Star is trying to keep his angry face on.
Star is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Yue.

Star tries to lock up and control but Yue gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Fei Yue showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Star tries to clinch there but Yue circles away.
Star tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Yue manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Star jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Yue with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Yue.
Star scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Yue cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Star is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Yue lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Oh Star is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Yue is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Star goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Yue!

An out of breath Fei Yue thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
