The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duritz slips a straight right by Burkina.
Burkina moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Adam Duritz has been cut.
Duritz tries to clinch but Burkina moves away
and Burkina counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Duritz's guard now.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Burkina throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Burkina slips nicely into half guard.
Burkina has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Burkina thows a huge punch but Duritz dodges it nicely.
Duritz told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Duritz wants to control but Burkina is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duritz gets back to full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Duritz holds on and takes a little breather.
Duritz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Burkina manages to get himself to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Burkina has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Duritz doesn't defend quickly enough and Burkina has managed to lock this one up! Can Duritz escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Burkina on a fantastic submission victory.
