Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Logan Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Logan Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Masters!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown gets the takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Masters avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Brown.
Brown working the strikes but Masters uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Masters is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Brown is just content to waste time from the top position. Masters takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Brown is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Steel Penn/Heavy Hands Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Brown throws a strike but Masters rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brown is trying to keep Masters in close.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Brown working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Masters doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Masters manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Brown controls Masters momentarily but Masters frees himself.
My spies in Evade MMA-LOD inform me that Masters has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Brown is really struggling to control Masters but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Masters wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Chris Masters hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Nice takedown defense from Masters. No joy for Brown on that attempt.

Masters uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Brown.
Brown tries for a takedown but Masters sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Brown misses with a double jab.

Masters drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brown keeping moving, preventing Masters from controlling successfully.
Brown is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Brown is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Masters tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brown looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Masters trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Brown manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
A nice elbow there by Brown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Logan Brown dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Masters fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brown sprawls well initially but Masters persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Brown is pressing down on Masters's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Brown holds on and takes a little breather.

Masters is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Masters drops back, looking for a kneebar! Brown looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Brown looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Brown!

It looks like Chris Masters has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Masters is looking for a sweep.
Brown throws an elbow but Masters slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Brown is working Masters over with some ground and pound from side control.
An elbow from Brown crashes against the mat.
Brown works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.


That has opened up Chris Masters's cut even more.
Masters tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brown wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Brown lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Masters down.
Brown scores with a couple of short elbows.


Chris Masters's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Chris Masters's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Logan Brown!
An out of breath Logan Brown thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
