Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Berend De Groot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, King Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Berend De Groot! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Groot takes a swing at Diaz's ribcage but misses. De Groot avoids the head kick by Diaz.
The fight stays on the outside here - De Groot looks like he's thinking about clinching though. De Groot checks a leg kick. De Groot shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Diaz's guard. De Groot sitting in guard here, content to control. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as De Groot accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. De Groot is stalling in the full guard. De Groot throws a strike but Diaz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Groot is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Diaz is aware though and is defending well. De Groot is trying to keep Diaz in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz throwing strikes from guard but De Groot blocks nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz with a flurry of punches that miss. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as De Groot holds on and takes a little breather. Diaz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! De Groot is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! De Groot has escaped and now he's on top! Diaz controls De Groot momentarily but De Groot frees himself. Hammerfist, elbow! yells De Groot's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz is working an open guard so De Groot takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. De Groot fails in his attempt to clinch. De Groot tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Diaz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. De Groot is looking to take this fight into the clinch. De Groot throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Diaz was covering up waiting for the punch and De Groot finishes the takedown easily into guard. Diaz throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. De Groot works a leg free and moves into half guard. De Groot stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Diaz to get to his feet. De Groot throws a one two combo.
It looks like King Diaz has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. De Groot manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Diaz on his heels. He'll look to pass Diaz's guard now, I'm sure. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. De Groot preventing the sweep. De Groot passes into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Berend De Groot dominated that round. The cut man is working on King Diaz's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Diaz pulls out of a head kick attempt.

De Groot swats away the attempt to clinch by Diaz. Diaz scores to the head and body with a nice combination! A head kick from De Groot lands but Diaz takes it in his stride. Diaz gets caught flat footed, as De Groot shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. De Groot controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Groot slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. De Groot tries for a kimura but Diaz is defending well. De Groot landing strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz trying to remain calm as De Groot controls from the top position. Diaz sneaks back into half guard. De Groot seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. De Groot decides to stand up. De Groot moves into the clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. De Groot jumps guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. De Groot is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Diaz presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Diaz misses with some punches.
The referee is keeping an eye on De Groot - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Diaz is fighting off a takedown attempt but De Groot is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Diaz to the mat. Diaz regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. De Groot trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom. De Groot postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but De Groot can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz is looking to sweep but instead, De Groot has passed into half guard.

Berend De Groot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on King Diaz's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. De Groot shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Diaz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Diaz keeping moving, preventing De Groot from controlling successfully. De Groot decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. De Groot closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Diaz did well to prevent De Groot getting side control. De Groot wants to work for an arm triangle but Diaz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz avoiding damage under a succession of punches from De Groot. De Groot is trying to control. Diaz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. De Groot working Diaz over with strikes. De Groot content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Berend De Groot has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. De Groot looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Diaz gets full guard. Diaz trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz striking off his back but it's not causing De Groot any problems. De Groot slips nicely into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ground and pound from De Groot. De Groot stands up and beckons Diaz to join him on the feet. Berend De Groot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz misses with a low kick. Diaz gets caught napping as De Groot dives in and scores a takedown. Diaz manages to retain guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. De Groot content to stall in guard here. De Groot works a leg free and moves into half guard. De Groot with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! De Groot lands strikes from half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Berend De Groot comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well De Groot has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
