Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tim Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heath Chappell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hansen comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Big Gun. Heath Chappell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Hansen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Heath Chappell! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hansen swats away the attempt to clinch by Chappell. A head kick misses from Chappell. Chappell fails in his attempt to clinch. Chappell wants to clinch. Nice body kick from Chappell. Chappell has Hansen up against the cage in a clinch.
Hansen on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Chappell manages to break the clinch.
Nice sprawl there from Chappell as Hansen shoots in. Chappell throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Hansen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chappell's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hansen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chappell swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hansen prevents Chappell from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hansen with a flurry of punches that miss. Chappell wants to get back to his feet but Hansen is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Nice takedown defense from Chappell. No joy for Hansen on that attempt. Chappell tries to close the distance and clinch but Hansen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Chappell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A head kick misses from Chappell. Hansen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Chappell did well to prevent Hansen getting side control. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hansen connects with a nice short shot to Chappell's temple. Hansen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Hansen not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Chappell on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hansen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Chappell has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Chappell is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hansen scores with a couple of nice shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chappell is trying to stand.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chappell tries to kick Hansen off but Hansen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Hansen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Chappell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hansen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hansen missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Hansen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Chappell avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hansen. Hansen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Chappell has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Hansen is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Chappell throws a knee to the head but misses.

Hansen keeps control of Chappell as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chappell is looking to break free of the clinch but Hansen has double underhooks. Chappell breaks from the clinch.

Chappell tries to move into range but Hansen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Tim Hansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hansen keeps the fight on the outside. Hansen dives in and grabs Chappell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chappell pushes down on Hansen's head and hops out. Chappell fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Chappell. Hansen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chappell tries to avoid it but Hansen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chappell to the ground. Chappell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Hansen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hansen shoots in but no luck this time. Hansen misses with a two punch combination.
Chappell tries to close the distance and clinch but Hansen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Chappell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Heath Chappell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hansen keeps the fight on the outside. Hansen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chappell but Chappell pushes him off and we're back to square one. Chappell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tim Hansen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hansen shoots in and bounces Chappell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hansen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Chappell keeping moving, preventing Hansen from controlling successfully.

He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Hansen throwing strikes but missing. Tim Hansen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hansen cracks Chappell with a solid left hand. This has been an exciting period of action! Hansen slips nicely into half guard. Chappell taking some punishment here, with Hansen in his half guard. Hansen not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hansen working over Chappell with some ground and pound. Chappell looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
