Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alphonse Tchami! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Romulo Barral! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barral closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tchami circles away. Barral closes the distance and clinches up with Tchami, looking for a takedown. Barral pushes Tchami against the cage but Tchami circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Tchami is looking to clinch. Tchami defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Barral. Alphonse Tchami has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Romulo Barral. Barral closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Barral is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tchami is just riding it out for now. Barral eventually gives up the hold. Barral is trying to work for a kimura but Tchami is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tchami is looking to control Barral's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tchami avoid being mounted? He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Tchami tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Barral!
