The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poddubnuy shoots in and gets a takedown into English's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
English escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Poddubnuy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Poddubnuy's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Poddubnuy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
English thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Poddubnuy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with English. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
English has his foot on Poddubnuy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Poddubnuy works his way back into a safe position though.
