Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sung Sang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McDougall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Sung Sang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, John McDougall! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McDougall feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sangs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Sang shoots for a double leg takedown but McDougall sprawls well. He's pushed Sang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Sang has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Soul Supremacy - UK in the buildup to the fight. McDougall lands a head shot. John McDougall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sang shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and McDougall counters with a nice uppercut. McDougall fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Sang's hands are dropping dangerously low here and McDougall connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sang scrambles back to his feet. Sang walks into a stiff left hand from McDougall. McDougall jabs at Sang's body. We've been informed that McDougall has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sang takes a shot right to the bread basket. McDougall feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sang's calf. McDougall catches Sang with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! McDougall lands a head shot. McDougall's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sang under the eye. McDougall jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sang takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. McDougall lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. McDougall connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. A jab lands there for McDougall. McDougall throws a nice looking combination but Sang bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. McDougall is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sang had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Sang on the wrong end of a nice jab. Sang shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McDougall sprawls well. McDougall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sang gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sung Sang. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice cross by McDougall. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A jab from McDougall does it's job there. McDougall stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McDougall wants it to stay on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sang shoots and misses and McDougall counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McDougall. Sang wants to sweep here but McDougall controlling him for the moment. McDougall lands a couple of elbows. McDougall avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
McDougall chips away with some ground and pound. McDougall landing some decent shots from guard. Sang is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sang is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McDougall is just riding it out for now. Sang eventually gives up the hold. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McDougall keeping hold of Sang's head, controlling as best he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDougall tries to roll over but Sang keeps him under control. Sang is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McDougall is just riding it out for now. Sang eventually gives up the hold. Sang trying to mount his opponent but McDougall defends it. Sang is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McDougall doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sang. Sang wants to free his trapped foot but McDougall is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sang passes to side control. Sang thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Sang looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Sang working away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sang is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McDougall has escaped the position, nice work there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John McDougall dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Nice body punch from McDougall. Sang tries to move into range but McDougall moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. McDougall connects with a jab. McDougall connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sang's hands. Ouch! a nice leg kick from McDougall, right into the meat.

McDougall connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A cross from McDougall lands. John McDougall seems to be getting the better of the standup. Sang shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and McDougall counters with a slapping leg kick. McDougall lands with an overhand left.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDougall cracks Sang with a good jab. Sang takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. No luck with that takedown attempt from Sang. The fighters circle momentarily. McDougall darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. A nice inside leg kick there by McDougall. That's going to slow Sang down. McDougall lands with an uppercut that bounces Sang off the cage and back into range. McDougall closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sang quickly recovers to half guard. McDougall winds up and cracks Sang with a swinging punch to the side of the head. McDougall working the head and body with strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sang on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. McDougall has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Sang slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. John McDougall has got the better of the ground game so far. Sang looking for a sweep. Not yet Sang, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McDougall stands up over Sang, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Sang had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McDougall defends it easily. McDougall is in close to Sang's body, working some short punches and elbows. Sang working for submissions but it's allowed McDougall to get to half guard.
Sang wants to get back to full guard. McDougall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sang. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McDougall is nestled in close to Sang, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. McDougall looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sang with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Sang tries to roll over but McDougall keeps him under control. Nice strikes from McDougall there. Sang gets full guard. Sang is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. The fighters are battling for position here. McDougall manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McDougall swivels though and keeps the full guard. McDougall pulls Sang in close to his closed guard and prevents Sang from doing any damage or advancing position. Sang passes McDougall's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Sang is working for a kimura but McDougall is defending it quite comfortably.
McDougall tries to roll over but Sang keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sang is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. McDougall is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sang's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sang's back! Sang is trying to break free.

Sang is working hard here to advance position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! McDougall cracks Sang with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Sang from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McDougall connects with a big shot to the side of Sang's head.

McDougall scores with punches to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John McDougall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
McDougall connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Sang misses with a takedown and McDougall counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sang's knee momentarily. McDougall connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Sang takes one on the button. McDougall fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sang sprawls well initially but McDougall persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Sang is looking to improve his position.
Sang looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. McDougall drops an elbow to the side of Sang's head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McDougall slips a nice elbow through Sang's hands, connecting with Sang's forehead. McDougall wants to control but Sang is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McDougall wants to free his trapped foot but Sang is holding on for dear life with his legs.

McDougall keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Ground and pound from McDougall. McDougall wants to take a breather but Sang is having none of it. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McDougall connects with a nice short shot to Sang's temple. Sang is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McDougall pulls his head out easily. Sang on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. McDougall controlling the action here.

Sang is looking for a sweep. McDougall is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. McDougall lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Sang moves into full guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McDougall wants to control from the top but Sang keeps moving. Sang looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

McDougall makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. McDougall wants to pass the guard but Sang is keeping the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hammerfist, elbow! yells McDougall's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Sung Sang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sang is on top in guard.
And that's the end of the fight! John McDougall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well McDougall has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
