Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Firen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tupi Caqui!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caqui blocks a head kick by Firen.
Caqui doesn't manage to clinch there - Firen circles away.

Firen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Firen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
No joy there for Firen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Caqui takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Firen keeps the fight on the outside.
Caqui goes for a double leg but Firen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Firen continues to drive forward.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Caqui is working for takedown but Firen is calmly controlling the position for now.
David Firen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tupi Caqui.
Firen is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
