Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tobias Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palmer has chosen DMX - X'gon give it to ya as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tobias Battle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Santiago Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Palmer sprawls well. Palmer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Battle gets slowly back to his feet.
Palmer fails with the takedown
enabling Battle to counter with a crisp jab.

Battle feints and as Palmer raises his hands in defense, Battle changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Battle wants to get up but he can't break Palmer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Battle shoots in for a takedown but Palmer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Palmer tries for a takedown but Battle sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Palmer dives in for a single leg takedown but Battle sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Battle tries to break free but Palmer pushes him back against the cage.
Battle's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Battle is pressed up against the cage. Palmer has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Battle down to the mat. Battle avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Battle is breathing heavily.

and Battle counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Palmer thinking.

Palmer closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Battle did well to prevent Palmer getting side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Palmer not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Palmer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Battle was covering up waiting for the punch and Palmer finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Santiago Palmer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Battle shoots in looking for a takedown. Palmer tries to sprawl out of it but Battle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Palmer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Battle tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Palmer defends well and Battle ends up having to push Palmer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Battle has had enough of the clinch but Palmer keeps him there for the moment.

Battle ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Battle no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Palmer controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Battle is looking for a triangle but Palmer pushes his legs off easily.
Battle can't keep his opponent in guard - Palmer advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Palmer is trying to work for a kimura but Battle is defending well.

Let's hope that Palmer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Santiago Palmer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Battle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Palmer is fending him off so far but Battle persists. Nope, Palmer circles away and we're back to standing.

Santiago Palmer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Palmer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
