Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ichiro Kosugi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asano Arai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arai comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fantastic Baby - BIG BANG kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Asano Arai will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ichiro Kosugi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Asano Arai!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kosugi throws a sloppy head kick and Arai moves out of range easily.
Arai misses with a series of wild punches.
Arai throws a wild body kick that Kosugi sees coming a mile off.
Kosugi shoots in looking for a takedown. Arai tries to sprawl out of it but Kosugi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Arai manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kosugi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Arai connects with the punch.
It looks like Ichiro Kosugi has been cut.
Kosugi checks a leg kick.
Arai throws a series of punches but Kosugi moves out of range.
Kosugi moves into the clinch.
Kosugi has picked Arai up - he's going for a ride! Kosugi dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Arai felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Arai moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Arai lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kosugi!

Arai cracks Kosugi with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Kosugi from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Kosugi looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Arai just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Kosugi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Arai is trying to stick to Kosugi's back but Kosugi is turning into Arai. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Arai's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kosugi.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kosugi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arai swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kosugi trying to control but Arai is working from the bottom.
Kosugi with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Kosugi forces his way into half guard.
Kosugi uses his free foot to push down on Arai's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Arai.
Kosugi with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Kosugi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Arai is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kosugi throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Arai because Kosugi loaded up on that one.
Arai wants to control but Kosugi is having none of it.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kosugi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Arai counters with a straight right hand.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kosugi is defended easily by Arai.
Kosugi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Arai slips a straight right by Kosugi.
Kosugi tries to land a front kick but Arai steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

and Arai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Kosugi shoots in looking for a takedown but Arai manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kosugi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Arai misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kosugi is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Arai looks to land a combination but Kosugi avoids it well.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Asano Arai was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Arai lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ichiro Kosugi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kosugi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arai sprawls well. Arai wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kosugi gets slowly back to his feet.
Arai feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kosugis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Arai lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kosugi at a distance.
Arai lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Kosugi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Arai misses with a kick to the body.
Arai is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Arai lands a nice looking body shot.
Arai has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Arai lands a nice hook to Kosugi's body. Kosugi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Kosugi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Arai moves away.
Arai looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Asano Arai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Arai throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
