Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesus Christ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Hyatt! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good work by Hyatt as he checks the leg kick. Christ misses the jab. Hyatt lands a nice looking body shot.
Christ avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hyatt lands a jab. Christ takes a swing at Hyatt's ribcage but misses. Hyatt closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. A short right from Hyatt on the inside. Christ misses with a punch on the inside.
Christ wants to stall.
Christ looking to throw knees to the head but Hyatt is blocking nicely.
Hyatt lands with a right to the head. Christ is struggling to control the position. Christ looking to stall.
Hyatt lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Hyatt lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Christ or not. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hyatt blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hyatt lands with a short shot to the head. A head punch blocked on the inside by Hyatt. Christ is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Hyatt lands a hook that snaps the head of Christ backwards. Christ swings wildly with an uppercut but Hyatt uses good head movement to avoid it. Hyatt swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hyatt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jesus Christ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Christ throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hyatt keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Christ takes a shot right to the bread basket. Hyatt tries to work over Christ's front leg with a kick but Christ checks it. Hyatt ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. A big left from Christ misses. A cross from Hyatt lands. Hyatt slips under a jab from Christ. Christ takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hyatt with a jab.
Christ is rocked! Hyatt throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Oh Christ is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Christ throws a looping overhand right but Hyatt ducks down to avoid it. Hyatt throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hyatt connects with a nice cross there... Christ is looking wobbly and Hyatt recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Christ to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Hyatt jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
