PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Casy Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Redban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carver kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is It's my life. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Casy Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Redban!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carver moves out of range as Redban throws a body kick.
Redban will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Redban clinches with his opponent.
Carver works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Carver tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Carver is trying to stall.

Carver manages to pull guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Redban wanted to stand there but Carver had control of the position.
Carver is trying to hold Redban in close to prevent damage but Redban has managed to pass into half guard.
Carver is trying to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carver keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

We're going to have a standup here because Casy Carver wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Redban fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Carver on the side of the head.


Carver is rocked!


It looks like Casy Carver has been cut.
Redban throws a series of punches but Carver moves out of range.

Redban fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Carver, pushing him back against the cage.
Redban wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Redban is trying to break free.
A frustrated look appears on Redban's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Redban is looking to break free of the clinch but Carver has double underhooks.
Carver keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Redban's efforts to push away.
Redban blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A short right from Carver on the inside.
Carver tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Redban just stands there and leans against the cage.
Carver lands a nice uppercut.
Carver tries to pull guard but Redban holds him up against the cage and eventually Carver drops back down to his feet.
Carver throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Carver prevents Redban from breaking the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Carver.
Redban blocks an elbow strike from Carver.
Redban is trying to force a seperation but Carver has the dominant position.
Redban avoiding damage as Carver throws knees to the body.
Carver missing with knees to the body.
Carver tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Redban just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Casy Carver. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Redban wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Carver lands a knee to the head.
Redban has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Carver prevents Redban from breaking the clinch.
Redban wants to break the clinch but can't.
Redban is trying to force a seperation but Carver has the dominant position.
Carver has Redban pressed against the cage, preventing Redban from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Carver looking to stall.
Our sources have told us that Carver has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Carver creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Redban's defenses.
Carver lands a nice shot to the body.
A short body shot lands from Carver as the two fighters clinch.
Carver really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carver is trying to maintain a safe position but Redban gets an underhook and turns Carver into the cage.
Redban takes a knee right on the jaw!
Carver keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Redban's efforts to push away.

Carver manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Carver trying to keep a closed guard but Redban is proving a slippery customer.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Redban gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Redban does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Brian Redban is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Redban, right into the meat.
Redban misses with a series of wild punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brian Redban will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Casy Carver's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Carver tries to close the distance and clinch but Redban swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Redban misses with the combination.
Brian Redban seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carver wants to clinch but Redban slips to the side
and Redban counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Carver! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Redban!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brian Redban!
The defeated Casy Carver had this to say: 'I'm not myself today , sorry - I will show real me at the next show ! '.
