Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bentley Downer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louden Swain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swain has chosen Gambler as his entrance music. Louden Swain told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bentley Downer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Louden Swain! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swain is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Downer's half guard. Downer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Downer is working hard here to advance position. Swain is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Downer has managed to free his arm - good work. Swain throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Downer is staying active underneath Swain, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Swain controlling the action here. Swain is thwarting Downer's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swain looks to land a strike but Downer avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Swain preventing the sweep. Swain with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Swain's corner is telling him to maintain position. Downer managing to control the position. Swain has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Swain drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Downer dives on top into guard. Swain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Downer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Swain controlling Downer's posture. Downer wants to stand but Swain is controlling his posture from full guard. Swain is trying to control the position from the bottom.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Louden Swain hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Downer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. This has been an exciting period of action! Swain is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Swain jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Downer walks away with a smile on his face. Swain gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Downer waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Swain. Swain ducks under a wild hook from Downer. Swain misses with a series of wild punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Downer takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Bentley Downer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Downer's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Swain connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Downer scrambles back to his feet. Downer throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Downer tries to clinch and Swain cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Downer misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Swain counters with a nice body shot. Swain fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Bentley Downer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Downer pushes Swain up against the cage in a clinch. Swain trying to control the position but instead, Downer has worked for underhooks and has pushed Swain into the cage. A head punch on the inside from Swain fails to land. Swain misses with a short punch on the inside. Downer blocks an uppercut.
Downer is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Downer pushes off an throws an elbow but Swain leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Downer gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Louden Swain has been cut. Downer lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Swain taking a breather. Swain manages to break the clinch.
Downer rushes Swain and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Swain fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Downer using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Swain is trying to maintain a safe position but Downer gets an underhook and turns Swain into the cage. Swain looking for a takedown. Bentley Downer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Louden Swain. Knees to the body from Downer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Swain takes an elbow to the temple. Swain takes an elbow to the temple.
That has opened up Louden Swain's cut even more. Nice elbow from Downer. Knees in the clinch landing for Downer.
Swain looks winded! Downer misses with a knee to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Bentley Downer will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Louden Swain's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Downer moves into the clinch. Swain has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Downer after a bit of a struggle. Swain content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Downer misses with an elbow over the top. Swain blocks the elbow strike.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Swain. Swain has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Downer avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Downer tries a knee to the head but Swain blocks it.

Swain is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Downer misses with an elbow over the top. Downer lands a knee to the head.

Swain has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Downer seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Swain can turn it around. Swain fails to pull guard.

Swain is rocked! With the two fighters working up against the cage, Downer just misses with a elbow thrown towards Swain's brow. Swain is still on wobbly legs! Can Downer finish him? Swain blocks an elbow strike from Downer.
Downer working the clinch nicely. Swain is working for position but Downer cracks him with a big knee to the head! Swain crumples up against the cage and Downer lands two more shots before the ref can save Swain! This one is all over!
