0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Karelin! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karelin scores with a head kick. Walls tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Walls throws the kick towards the body but Karelin avoids it. Karelin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Karelin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Walls is looking to clinch. Karelin throws a sloppy head kick and Walls moves out of range easily. Walls blocks a head kick by Karelin.
Karelin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Karelin tries a head kick but it misses.

Walls clinches up against the cage. Karelin is trying to push Walls away but Walls has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Karelin can't break the clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Walls takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Karelin tries to break free but Walls pushes him back against the cage. Walls manages to break the clinch.

Karelin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A head kick misses from Karelin. Karelin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Walls forces Karelin back against the cage and clinches. Karelin is trying to break the clinch but Walls has him pressed against the cage. Karelin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Karelin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Walls is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Walls for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karelin works Walls's body with a nice hook. Walls tries to clinch up but Karelin circles away and keeps his distance. Walls clinches up against the cage. Karelin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Walls stalling against the cage.

Karelin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Walls is proving hard to escape from. Walls really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Karelin being controlled here momentarily. Walls trying to control the position.
Walls bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Karelin's guard. Karelin keeping moving, preventing Walls from controlling successfully. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Walls tries to circle away but Karelin has him pinned against the cage. Walls's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Karelin scores with a head kick.

Walls goes for a double leg but Karelin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Karelin continues to drive forward. Walls gets control of Karelin's arms and successfully pulls guard. Walls will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Walls tries to land a sweep but no joy. Karelin wants to get up but he can't break Walls's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Karelin being controlled here momentarily. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Karelin wants to stand but Walls has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Walls will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Karelin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Walls tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Karelin paws at him with a jab and circles away. Karelin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Walls throws a head kick that misses. Brice Walls has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Walls keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brice Walls. I think Karelin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Jack Karelin! Jack Karelin decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
