Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danny Barns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank DeNino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeNino defending well as Barns loads up on a big left hand.
DeNino missing with a left hand there. Barns was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Barns looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Barns looks to land a left hand but DeNino moved out of range nicely.

Barns has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from DeNino finds it's way round the side to connect with Barns's head.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Barns throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. DeNino tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barns is in DeNino's guard.
Barns slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
DeNino working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barns doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barns manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

DeNino has momentary wrist control but Barns slips an elbow through the middle.

DeNino is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Barns on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Barns tries to get out of the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Barns got a little sloppy there for a moment and DeNino has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barns has managed to get both his arms back between DeNino's legs - danger averted.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

DeNino might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Horrible takedown by Barns or perhaps it was just good defense by DeNino which made him look bad.

DeNino is positioning himself well to prevent Barns advancing to mount.
Barns looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks DeNino with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Still in half guard, Barns seems content to control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
DeNino wants to improve his position but Barns is controlling well.

Danny Barns has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
DeNino misses with a body shot.
Barns drives through with a takedown into DeNino's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

DeNino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barns. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Barns is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Barns lands a couple of digs.
DeNino is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Barns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeNino swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Danny Barns.
I think Barns has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Danny Barns rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
