Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wally Guerrero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wally Guerrero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yuri Boyka!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boyka gets the takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Guerrero struggling a bit here.

Boyka working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Boyka has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Guerrero tries to sprawl but Boyka drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Boyka is pressing down on Guerrero's thigh, looking to free his foot. Guerrero is holding on for now.
Guerrero is trying to maintain the position but Boyka is very close to passing his half guard.

Guerrero might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Well, if Boyka is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Guerrero is trying to get back to full guard.
Boyka wants to get back to his feet.

Boyka is looking for a kimura but Guerrero is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Boyka to get the leverage.
Guerrero is looking for a sweep. Boyka is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Boyka content to control rather than advance.
Boyka tries to pass the half guard into mount. Guerrero knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Guerrero is trying to maintain the position but Boyka is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boyka throws a body kick that misses.

Boyka throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Guerrero was covering up waiting for the punch and Boyka finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Guerrero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Boyka controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Guerrero escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boyka gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Guerrero is trying to keep Boyka in close.
Guerrero could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Boyka wants to control from the top but Guerrero keeps moving.
Guerrero wants to sweep but no luck.
Guerrero is working hard here to advance position.

Boyka throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Guerrero works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Boyka stops Guerrero from standing up.
Boyka with a flurry of punches that miss.
Guerrero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Boyka looking to sit in guard and control but Guerrero gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Boyka has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Boyka seems keen to control Guerrero's posture.
Guerrero won't allow Boyka to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Guerrero won't allow Boyka to sweep him here.
Boyka pulls Guerrero in close to his closed guard and prevents Guerrero from doing any damage or advancing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yuri Boyka dominated that round.
That's time! Guerrero's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Boyka looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Guerrero trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Boyka manages to pass to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boyka sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Guerrero is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Boyka controlling the position easily from mount.
Yuri Boyka has got the better of the ground game so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Guerrero is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Boyka unloads with some shots from mount but Guerrero bucks and avoids them well.

Boyka is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Guerrero is surviving well by controlling Boyka's body position as best he can.

Boyka stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Guerrero fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Boyka tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
No joy there for Boyka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Boyka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Guerrero parries the strikes from Boyka easily there. Boyka is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Guerrero to escape.
You can see the frustration on Guerrero's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Guerrero is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Boyka wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Guerrero, who protects the arm well.
Guerrero is trying to improve his position.
Boyka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Guerrero keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Boyka stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Boyka closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Guerrero quickly recovers to half guard.
Guerrero manages to get to full guard.
Boyka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guerrero swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Boyka stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Boyka clinches up with Guerrero and pushes him back against the cage.
Guerrero is trying to stall.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Guerrero looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Boyka jumps guard.
Boyka is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yuri Boyka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Boyka shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Guerrero manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Guerrero is trying to keep Boyka in close.

Boyka seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Boyka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Guerrero struggling a bit here.
Guerrero is not content to let Boyka control the position.
Guerrero tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Boyka wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Boyka has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Guerrero gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Boyka wants to get up but he can't break Guerrero's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Boyka gets to his feet. Guerrero looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Boyka lands a body shot.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Boyka fails in his attempt to clinch.
Boyka tries to clinch but Guerrero is having none of it.
Guerrero darts in looking for a takedown but Boyka gets double underhooks and turns Guerrero into the cage.

Boyka wants to control from the top but Guerrero keeps moving.

Yuri Boyka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Boyka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
