Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Phillip Tanner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Terry Wells!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wells tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tanner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tanner looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Tanner drives through with a takedown into Wells's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Wells is looking to stand up but Tanner isn't so interested in that idea.
Tanner distracts Wells with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Tanner passes into half guard.
Tanner prevents Wells from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing good reports from Tanner's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Terry Wells wasn't active enough on the ground.
Tanner shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wells defends it nicely.

Tanner bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Wells regains half guard.
Tanner throwing shots but Wells is blocking nicely.
Wells is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tanner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tanner's back!
Tanner is trying to get back to his feet but Wells has full control of the position and if anything, Tanner has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Wells wants to control but Tanner is keeping busy.
Wells is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Tanner trying to control the action but Wells just sinks the hooks in.
You can see the frustration on Tanner's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
What can Tanner do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Wells has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Tanner has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Tanner is trying to stand back up.
Can Tanner hold on?! Wells is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Wells has the hooks in. Tanner is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Wells trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Wells has Tanner flattened out and is raining down punches.

Wells is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Tanner defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Tanner is trying to get back to his feet but Wells has full control of the position and if anything, Tanner has just worked his way into a worse spot.
