PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abel Hardin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Qo Nosof (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Qo Nosof told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Abel Hardin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Qo Nosof!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nosof lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like Abel Hardin has been cut.
Nosof pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hardin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Nosof tries to bench press Hardin off him but Hardin keeps the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nosof can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hardin sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Nosof is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Nosof avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hardin.

Nosof is trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nosof holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Hardin really is a fat lump.
Hardin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Nosof is looking for a sweep.
Hardin throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

Hardin decides to stand back up. Hardin steps back and let's Nosof get back to his feet.
Hardin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nosof as he jumps to the side.
Hardin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Nosof holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Nosof lands a takedown into guard.
Hardin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nosof not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nosof trying to control but Hardin is working from the bottom.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hardin tries to strike from the bottom.
Nosof slips nicely into half guard.
Nosof working the head and body with strikes.
Hardin has hold of Nosof's hands but Nosof slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Hardin won't allow Nosof to pass to mount.
Nosof blocks the strikes from Hardin.
Nosof looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hardin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ground and pound from Nosof.

Nosof working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Nosof seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Hardin gets back to full guard.
Nosof landing some decent shots from guard.
Nosof must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Nosof content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Nosof forces his way into half guard.
Nosof landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.


Hardin is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nosof scores with a big shot! Hardin's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Hardin! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Qo Nosof!
Qo Nosof seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
