Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scotty Baker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darin Cooley! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Baker swinging wildly here.
Darin Cooley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Baker looks for a takedown but Cooley sprawls well. Cooley gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Baker counters with a three punch combo that has Cooley backing up. Cooley nods at Baker to acknowledge the strikes. Cooley throws the kick towards the body but Baker avoids it. Baker shoots in but no luck this time. Cooley has Baker up against the cage in a clinch.
Baker tries to break the clinch but Cooley is controlling the position. Baker manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Baker tries to land knees in the clinch but Cooley avoids the damage to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baker stalling in the clinch but Cooley improves position. Baker wants to break the clinch but can't.
Baker throws an elbow but it misses.
Cooley tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Baker's elbow. Cooley tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Scotty Baker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darin Cooley. Baker breaks the clinch.
Cooley dives in for a single leg takedown but Baker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Cooley missing with knees to the body.
Cooley is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Baker digs a right hand into Cooley's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Cooley's gas tank. Cooley is trying to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Baker manages to break the clinch.
Baker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Baker lands in his opponent's guard. Cooley trying to control the position here. Baker is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cooley throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Cooley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Baker's guard. Cooley wants to control from the top but Baker keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Baker wants to stand but Cooley is controlling the position. Cooley postures up.
Baker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cooley is aware though and is defending well. Cooley postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cooley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cooley engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Cooley trying to control but Baker is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Darin Cooley. Baker manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cooley on his heels. He'll look to pass Cooley's guard now, I'm sure. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cooley wants to control the position but Baker says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cooley wants to get back to his feet.
Cooley looks winded! The referee calls for the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Scotty Baker will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Baker softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Nice elbow from Baker. The referee is keeping an eye on Baker - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Cooley blocks a punch to the side of the head.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Baker managing to block the knees to the body from Cooley.
Baker is trying to break the clinch but Cooley is controlling him. Stalling in the clinch from Baker.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Scotty Baker. Good work by Baker as he checks the leg kick. Cooley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Baker is fending him off so far but Cooley persists. Nope, Baker circles away and we're back to standing. Cooley closes the distance and pushes Baker back into the cage. Baker trying to control the position but instead, Cooley has worked for underhooks and has pushed Baker into the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baker keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cooley's efforts to push away. Cooley is trying to stall.

Cooley wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Baker manages to break the clinch.
Baker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Cooley goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Cooley rushes Baker and presses him up against the cage. Cooley fails to pull guard.
Scotty Baker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darin Cooley. Baker pushes off an throws an elbow but Cooley leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baker stalling in the clinch but Cooley improves position. Cooley misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Baker.
Baker is looking to break free of the clinch but Cooley has double underhooks. Cooley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cooley has a takedown stuffed. Baker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Cooley is breathing heavily. Cooley trying to control from the bottom.
Cooley is looking for a sweep. Baker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Baker tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Cooley.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cooley makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cooley. Cooley is trying to control the position but Baker postures up. Cooley throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Baker escapes and throws Cooley's legs to the side, diving into side control! Baker working away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Baker controls the position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cooley is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Baker is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Cooley is trying to escape and Baker transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Cooley is forced to tap! Nice work there by Baker! Very nice indeed!
