The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sailor. Sailor circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Doe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Doe lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Sailor tries to throw a body punch but Doe avoids it by throwing Sailor back against the cage.

Doe tightens his grip and picks Sailor up, before dumping him to the ground. Sailor manages to land in guard.

Sailor wants to control but Doe is keeping busy.

Doe is trying to work for a kimura but Sailor is defending well.
Sailor is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Doe's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Doe's back!
Doe tries to break free.
Sailor is not going to allow Doe to sit and survive in this position.
Sailor is trying to stick to Doe's back but Doe is turning into Sailor. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sailor's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Doe.
Doe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sailor manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Doe is pressing down on Sailor's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sailor is holding on for now.
Sailor has a hand on Doe's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Doe takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sailor is trying to escape the mount.
Doe looking to control but Sailor is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Doe dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Doe changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sailor looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Sailor is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Doe has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Doe tries to move into full mount but can't pass Sailor's legs.
Doe wants to control but Sailor is keeping him busy.
Doe lands a nice forearm strike.
Doe works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Oh Sailor is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wendell Sailor's cut is getting worse.
Doe lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Sailor down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Doe scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Sailor is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Doe can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
