PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and London Jordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jordan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Till I Collapse. Tim Douglas has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tim Douglas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, London Jordan!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jordan.
Jordan throws a low kick but Douglas avoids it.
Douglas misses with a straight right.
Douglas has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jordan finds it's way round the side to connect with Douglas's head.
Jordan lands with a shot to the body.
Jordan tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Douglas is able to avoid easily.
Douglas throws a right hand that misses

and Jordan counters with a takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Jordan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jordan is looking to take a break and control but Douglas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jordan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jordan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Douglas is looking to regain half guard here but Jordan keeps moving and retains side control.
Douglas holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

Jordan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Douglas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jordan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Douglas!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jordan wants to control the pace but Douglas is squirming around nicely.
Douglas tries to hold on but Jordan pushes him away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Douglas is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Jordan has taken his back.

Douglas manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jordan's guard. Nice work there by Douglas.
Jordan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jordan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jordan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Douglas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jordan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Douglas's guard.
Jordan pushes down on Douglas's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Douglas wants to get back to full guard but Jordan has passed into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

London Jordan dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jordan swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Douglas blocks a leg kick.
Nice body punch from Jordan.
Douglas throws a looping overhand right but Jordan ducks down to avoid it.

Jordan is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Douglas enables Jordan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Douglas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Douglas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Jordan. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Douglas is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jordan off and has taken his back!

Jordan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. London Jordan wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jordan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Douglas at a distance.

London Jordan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jordan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jordan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Douglas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

London Jordan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jordan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

London Jordan decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
