Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Coryatt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sterling Archer! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coryatt rushes Archer and presses him up against the cage. Archer is trying to pull guard but Coryatt turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Coryatt stalling.
Archer is working for takedown but Coryatt is calmly controlling the position for now. Archer tries a body shot but Coryatt blocks it.
Coryatt connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like Sterling Archer has been cut. Coryatt effectively controlling the action here. Coryatt lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Coryatt lands a good knee to the midsection. Archer won't want to take too many of those. Coryatt manages to break the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Archer is defended easily by Coryatt. Chris Coryatt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sterling Archer. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Coryatt throws a head kick that misses. Coryatt gets a clinch. Archer jumps guard but Coryatt turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. The referee calls for Coryatt to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coryatt lands a damaging elbow. Coryatt lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Archer is trying to force a seperation but Coryatt has the dominant position. Archer takes a knee right on the jaw!
Archer breaks the clinch.
Coryatt throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Archer colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Coryatt as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Archer is left battered and dazed whilst Coryatt and his camp cheer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Coryatt! After winning the bout, Chris Coryatt thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
