The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler shoots in but no luck this time. A nice combination there by Nomo.
Nomo bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler's head backwards. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Nomo tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler is in Nomo's guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Nomo keeping moving, preventing Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler from controlling successfully. Nomo has his foot on Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler works his way back into a safe position though. Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nomo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler has managed to get both his arms back between Nomo's legs - danger averted. Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler wants to control from the top but Nomo keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nomo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler manages to get himself to full guard.
Nomo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Nomo has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Nomo yanks on the arm and Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Nomo.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shintaro Nomo! Shintaro Nomo decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little. The defeated Ellen Littlejohn Wilson Greenbaum Hagler had this to say: 'This fight's not over until my opponent tests negative for performance-enhancing drugs...and given his past history, I doubt that his system's clean.'.
