Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rogerio Navarro!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Briggs looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Briggs tries to close the distance and clinch but Navarro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Briggs darts in trying to clinch

and Navarro counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Briggs's guard now.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Briggs looking to hit a scissor sweep but Navarro is one step ahead there.
Briggs wants to hit a switch here but Navarro passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Briggs there!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Briggs looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Navarro keeps control of the position as Briggs tries to break free.
Briggs is working hard here to advance position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Briggs turns into Navarro and is now in his guard.

Briggs avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Navarro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Briggs can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Navarro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Briggs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Briggs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Briggs landing with the ground and pound.

Navarro is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Briggs frees his head nicely. Oh but Navarro has switched to an armbar! Briggs is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
