Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Felix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amen Ra Ho tep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Felix comes to the cage accompanied by The Wave. Marcelo Felix has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Felix! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Amen Ra Ho tep! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ho tep throws out a loose jab but Felix uses good head movement to avoid it. Felix misses with a takedown attempt - Ho tep sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ho tep pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice uppercut lands for Ho tep. That snapped Felix's head back.

Ho tep lands a lovely overhand right. Felix shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Felix was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Felix moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ho tep has worked his arm free - good work by Ho tep!

That's one minute gone in the round. Ho tep is not content to let Felix control the position. Felix is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ho tep is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Felix is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ho tep is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Felix is controlling him well. Felix tries for a kimura but Ho tep is defending well.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Felix on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Felix avoids the head kick by Ho tep.
Felix looks for a takedown but Ho tep sprawls well. Ho tep goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ho tep misses with a straight left. Ho tep throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Amen Ra Ho tep seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A right-left combo lands from Ho tep. Ho tep lands a head kick!

Felix takes a kick to the side of the head. Felix shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ho tep but Ho tep pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcelo Felix. That's going to take a lot out of him. Felix takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Nice defenses there by Felix. Felix darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Felix is stalling here. Ho tep is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Felix seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Ho tep has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Felix tries to improve position but can't. Felix manages to work his way to half guard, despite Ho tep's best efforts. Felix tries to get to full guard but Ho tep has control of the leg. Ho tep wants to stand but Felix has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Marcelo Felix will probably get the nod. That's time! Felix's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Felix shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Ho tep is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Felix is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ho tep has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ho tep! Ho tep would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Felix looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ho tep is one step ahead there.

Felix had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ho tep is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Felix Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ho tep's back instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Felix tightening his grip on Ho tep, looking for the choke. Felix has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Felix is looking for the choke from the back position but Ho tep is controlling his hands well. Felix keeps control of the position easily here as Ho tep tries to buck him off.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ho tep trying to get back to his feet but Felix is in full control for now. Felix slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Ho tep is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Felix off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Felix wants to control but Ho tep is keeping busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcelo Felix dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Felix fails in his attempt to clinch. A jab from Ho tep does it's job there. Ho tep connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Ho tep throws a sloppy head kick and Felix moves out of range easily. Felix shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Felix was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Felix wants to control the pace but Ho tep is squirming around nicely. Felix swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ho tep is now in Felix's guard. A big mistake from Felix there, giving up the dominant position! Felix has his foot on Ho tep's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ho tep works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Felix has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ho tep is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Felix. Felix is looking to reverse the position. A control attempt from Felix but he's now mounted! Felix tries to reverse the position but Ho tep maintains control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Felix wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Felix tries to roll but Ho tep sticks to his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Felix sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Felix makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Felix. Felix looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Felix holds on to Ho tep's head and controls the position momentarily. Felix tries to bench press Ho tep off him but Ho tep keeps the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcelo Felix showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Felix, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
