Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Unkind Artist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Twelf Thermandin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Artist comes to the cage accompanied by Dropkick Murphys - Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya. Thermandin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Prelude 12 by Styx. Twelf Thermandin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Artist misses with a kick to the body.
Artist lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Artist throws a nice outside leg kick.
Thermandin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Artist throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Thermandin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Artist looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Thermandin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thermandin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Thermandin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

We've been told by Artist's head coaches at Disciples Top Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thermandin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Artist swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Thermandin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Artist - the referee stops the clock and Thermandin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Artist. Thermandin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Unkind Artist will probably get the nod.

and Thermandin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Artist's guard now.
Thermandin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Thermandin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Thermandin has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Artist is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Thermandin.

Artist has control of an arm but Thermandin manages to advance to Artist's back!
Artist is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Thermandin is trying to stick to Artist's back but Artist is turning into Thermandin. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Thermandin's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Artist.
