Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Venizios Karebidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Drake is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Venizios Karebidis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Al Drake!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake misses with a looping right.
Karebidis throws a series of punches but Drake moves out of range.
Drake has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Drake blocks the body kick.
Karebidis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Karebidis misses with a lunging right hand
and Drake counters with a left to the body.
Drake tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Karebidis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Drake lands with a nice combination. Karebidis backs away looking to recover.
Drake connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Karebidis's hands.
Drake fails to land with a series of punches.
Karebidis misses with a kick to the body
and Drake counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Karebidis falls off balance throwing a combination
and Drake counters with a two punch combo.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Drake.
A head kick misses from Drake.
Drake throws a right hand that Karebidis ducks under and follows up with a left that Karebidis also avoids with ease.
Karebidis throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Drake fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Karebidis misses with a few strikes there.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Karebidis.
Karebidis cracks Drake with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Drake throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Karebidis.
Karebidis throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Karebidis throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Drake is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Drake throws the left hand but Karebidis avoids the punch easily.
Karebidis misses with an attempted mid kick.
Drake lands with a cross.

Drake moves into range and clinches up with Karebidis.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Drake is trying to force a seperation but Karebidis has the dominant position.
Karebidis lands with a right to the head.
Karebidis wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Still in the clinch, Karebidis scores with a nice short uppercut.
Karebidis scores with an uppercut up the middle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Drake is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Karebidis is keeping busy.

Karebidis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Drake rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Karebidis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Drake shoots in but no luck this time.
Venizios Karebidis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Drake.
Karebidis slaps away a takedown attempt from Drake, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A jab from Karebidis misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A combination from Karebidis does no damage.
Drake drops his hands momentarily and Karebidis takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.


Drake is rocked!


It looks like Al Drake has been cut.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Drake lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Karebidis has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Karebidis and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Karebidis looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Karebidis throws a combination. Drake tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Drake is still on wobbly legs! Can Karebidis finish him?
Karebidis circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Drake to the canvas! Drake doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Karebidis keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Venizios Karebidis!
